FOR THE LOVE OF JEN
This July I went on what I think I can safely say was the best camping trip of my life. My dear friend Jen was getting married in August and had been busy nearly non-stop all year working to prepare for the wedding. We wanted to throw her a bachelorette party that was fun AND relaxing, because if anyone deserved some r&r this summer it was definitely Jen. We ended up on a road trip through central Oregon, stopping to camp along the way at Crater Lake and on the shore of the John Day river. On the way back we stayed in a sweet woodsy cabin in Ashalnd.
It was just three of us- the perfect number for an intimate three-night adventure. It was refreshing to experience new places in great company and with the best reason to celebrate. Lots of laughs were shared and delicious meals eaten as we savored the incredible variety of landscape that Oregon has to offer.
PS: the pretty bread on sticks in the first photo was inspired by Kinfolk's Campfire Bread recipe.

NEW BLOG
After a little bit of thought I decided to make the switch-over to blogger. I want to include more writing along with my photos and it just seems like an easier option. So welcome to my new/old blog! I decided it was time to makeover, organize, and finally start keeping up- for reals this time. My new job at the graphic design lab on campus leaves me with lots of free time in front of the computer, so I figure I may as well use it productively.
Things have been busy but enjoyable around here. After a few very belated days of summer weather it's finally starting to feel like fall. I always think of myself as a summer girl, but by September I'm always giddy with anticipation for baked pumpkin treats and cozy evenings at home.
This year I plan to fully take advantage of the season. I can't wait to:
- drink lots of mulled wine
- get outside and enjoy my last fall in this beautiful place I've called home for 22 years.
